I am Bailee Jones, and I'm running for Holladay City Council - District 3
I’m running because I believe Holladay deserves leaders who listen closely, act with integrity, and put in the work to keep our neighborhood healthy, charming, and prepared for the future.
About Me

Holladay has always been home. I grew up on the East Side of the Salt Lake Valley—spending time at the old Cottonwood Mall and playing soccer at Bonneville Junior High. Today, my husband and I are raising our three boys here, surrounded by extended family. We even have loved ones laid to rest in the Holladay Cemetery just down the road. I want my kids to grow up with that same deep sense of connection to their neighbors and surroundings.
For a little background on me, I’m a proud graduate of the University of Utah, where I earned a degree in Business Administration. While working my way through college at a local law firm, I discovered a passion for public policy that set the course for my career. That interest led to an internship on Capitol Hill and involvement with the Hinckley Institute of Politics, where I participated in local policy discussions and connected with leaders from across the state. After graduating, I went on to serve in the public sector in Washington, D.C. I spent nearly five years working at the highest levels of national government—representing Utah’s interests, contributing to policy development, and witnessing firsthand the impact politics has on families and communities across the country.
While I loved my time in D.C.—the energy, the people, and the important work—when the chance came to move home, I didn’t hesitate. Returning to Holladay allowed me to be close to family and friends and to raise my kids in this special community. Since making the move, I’ve brought the skills I developed in D.C. to a local financial technology startup focused on expanding access to financial tools for underserved families. I truly enjoy my current work and value the opportunity it gives me to give back.

Putting it together, I have experience in both the private and public sectors. I’ve honed my skills in communication, negotiation, financial strategy, and public management—all of which I believe are essential to effective and thoughtful local leadership. But service has never been just a job title for me—it’s been a constant throughout my life. I’ve also helped coordinate community service projects, worked with refugee job placement programs, and volunteered in local kitchens.
More personally, I am an avid walker, gardener, and proud mom and wife. In fact, my greatest source of joy is my family. My husband—an Oxford-educated attorney with deep ties to Holladay—shares my commitment to service and community. One of his proudest childhood memories is winning the Cottonwood Country Club golf championship at age 12. Now we’re raising three boys who love park adventures and Friday night pizza at Pizzeria Tasso in Holladay City Center. As a mom, I care deeply about the future we’re building—for our children, and for all the families who call Holladay home. Like many here, we want Holladay to stay safe, connected, and livable—not just for today, but for years to come.

If elected, I’ll bring a thoughtful, proactive approach to the issues that matter most—supporting local businesses, building and improving our community spaces, enhancing walkability, and ensuring every voice in District 3 is heard and respected. I’m not running to make noise—I’m running to make progress, and to serve with the care this community deserves. Holladay has given so much to my family. I want to give back—and I’d be honored to earn your support.
